Graduate Web Developer - .NET Developer (C#, SQL Server, Umbraco)

Edinburgh. £18-20k + benefits (and 28 days holidays)

We are a leading Edinburgh based company specialising in providing a diverse range of technical and web based solutions to the growing residential property letting market. An exciting and varied role is now available for a talented .NET Developer (at Graduate level), to help us expand and deliver more products to the market place.

You will be heavily involved with the company’s existing development team, initially helping with the maintenance and ongoing development of the company’s core website, one of the UK’s leading property portals. Moving forward, once you have gained an insight into the market and understanding of the code base and practices, you will be involved in the design and development of many new and exciting products currently in the development pipeline.

This is a huge opportunity to be instrumental in developing ground-breaking web and mobile applications. It is vital that you are detail-oriented, rigorous and have a positive approach to solving problems.

Skills and qualifications

Applicants must be on track to achieve (or have achieved) a 1st / 2:1

The successful candidate will be a graduate in a computer science or related degree.

Essential skills:
Good knowledge of C#, ASP.Net and the .Net framework in general.

Good knowledge of JavaScript and the JQuery library (AJAX, XML, JSON knowledge advantageous).

Excellent attention to detail and rigorous in investigating and producing accurate results.

Positive approach to problem solving.

Desirable skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (or a similar database platform).

Knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

Good written and verbal communication skills.
