Role
This position at Linknode is positioned under the Technical Architect and Director as developer for
a range of projects. Primarily as a front-end application engineer you will be focussed on both
coding new developments and supporting existing applications across the web and Windows
Phone based on services, SQL data and geospatial technology platforms.

You
The successful candidate will be a motivated software engineer / developer, educated to
Computer Science or equivalent degree level. You will have a solid software development
background and hands-on commercial experience is preferred.
You must have primary skills in at least three of the following Microsoft technologies (C#, WP7,
Silverlight, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Azure) and preferably MVVM/MVC methodologies. You will have
knowledge of modern web communication technologies and experience of test driven
development.
Experience in SQL Server or other RDBMS environments is highly desirable, as are geospatial
awareness, basic server management and practical experience of working directly with customers.

Key Skills

  • C# with MVVM (inc ASP.NET and LINQ)
  • Silverlight or Windows Phone 7 development
  •  Other mobile (Android / iOS) platform experience
  • SQL Server / SQL CE development
  • Self-sufficient problem solver
  • Recent commercial exposure and good communication skills

Desirable / Aspirational

  • jQuery, HTML5 and UI design
  • JavaScript / AJAX, CSS
  • Understanding of geospatial technologies
  • SQL design and optimisation
  • Windows Server and IIS Management
  • Test driven development and unit testing
  • Development of R&D projects (including your own!)

Remuneration
Starting: Full time, salary band £24,000-£32,000 pa with 20 days holiday (plus statutory)
+6 Months: Performance related benefits review including pension contributions.

Location
The position is located in central Stirling.
There will be occasional requirements to travel and work onsite, including overnight when
required, a full UK driving licence is essential.
